'Genius' corduroy shorts with pocket attachment cause online frenzy

All women know the joy of discovering a dress or a skirt they already like has pockets, but a 'genius' designer has taken that one step further with her multi-pocketed shorts - and the internet is going wild for it.

Florida woman Liz Nicole shared a photo on Twitter of the shorts that seem regular, albeit with a rather chunky pocket on the side.

A second photo shows that the long pocket unfastens to reveal three plastic pouches, which Nicole filled with money, sunglasses and make-up.

Since posting the images, Nicole has racked up over 150,000 likes on Twitter, and thousands of comments from followers asking where they can get their own pair.

"You better believe I'm getting one of those right now," one person wrote.

"These are an amazing invention," another replied.

"I lose everything. I need this shit in my life," wrote another.

Nicole's caption with the name of the brand 'My Mum Made It' garnered some confusion, as people replied asking if her mother could make them a pair.

"Guys, my mum didn't actually make this, it's the name of the brand," she wrote in a follow-up tweet.

My Mum Made It is based in Australia, and all the brand's clothes are designed by founder Nyree Leckenby.

A pair of the high-waisted cream corduroy shorts will set you back AU$69 (NZ$72).

On the My Mum Made it Instagram page, Leckenby says the shorts "can also be used to sneak snacks into class".

On a since-expired Instagram Story, she expressed her delight at the popularity of the shorts, writing, "you really sent my shorts viral. I love you guys".
