Vans announces Harry Potter footwear collaboration

Shoe brand Vans is collaborating with the Harry Potter franchise on a collection it says is "magical".

Announcing the collaboration on social media, Vans has also launched a website that suggests the range will be themed after the four houses of Hogwarts: Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Slytherin and Hufflepuff.

Split into four sections, one for each of the houses, the website displays swirl patterns in their signature colours and obscures designs of their featured animals as patterns within the patterns.

"Vans and Harry Potter collaborated to conjure up a magical collection of footwear, apparel and accessories for witches, wizards, and Muggles alike," the website says.

There's not much more information - no sign of a release date, description of the items or how much they'll cost.

But the announcement has certainly created a buzz online, with fans sharing their excitement on social media.

"Vans is doing a Harry Potter collab and I'm gonna need everything," tweeted @darienne_J.

"Shut up and take my galleons," added @itsavalsetriste, in the form of a picture meme.

The Harry Potter collection from Vans follows the California-based company's David Bowie collection that was released earlier this month, which features products that reference five milestones in the 'Life on Mars' hitmaker's career.
