Is your ex still bugging you? If you've already sobbed into your second tub of ice cream and you're now onto the fifth viewing of John Tucker Must Die, it's time for closure.

A US zoo is here to help this Valentine's Day, offering you the chance to name a cockroach after your ex and watch it get fed to a meerkat!

It's the second year the 'Quit Bugging Me' event run by El Paso Zoo in Texas is allowing bitter lovers the sweet shot at revenge on their past partners. Organisers say this year will be better than ever.

For three days only from February 14,  you can name a cockroach after your ex and watch it being devoured by a zoo animal, whether that be a meerkat, primate, bird, or small mammal.

If you can't make it there on the day, they will be streaming the action on their social media sites.

It's free to submit your pesky ex's name but El Paso Zoo is welcoming donations.

"For every $1000 raised, our zoo director Joe will eat a cockroach!" the zoo posted on their Facebook page.

Submission forms will be open on their website from February 1.
