Do you know a Kiwi stuck overseas, missing New Zealand after a long year of lockdowns and stress?

Now you can gift them a taste of home without having to cart suitcases full of chocolate to them, or pay a fortune in courier bags.

Kiwi chocolate brand Whittaker's launched their new 'Cocoa Lovers' assortment today, a mix of individual squares of four chocolate flavours, which comes in a recyclable bag.

But more importantly, they can be purchased online and sent around the world, just in time for Christmas.

Whittaker's co-chief operating officer Holly Whittaker says the company is excited about potentially being an even bigger part of many Kiwis' Christmases this year.

"We're really looking forward to getting into the Christmas spirit by extending our range of assortments and providing a way for chocolate lovers to buy their favourites from us directly, which we'll gift wrap with care and send to their loved ones in New Zealand or overseas," says Whittaker.

"It's been a tough year for lots of Kiwis whether in New Zealand or abroad. With borders remaining closed, we've worked hard to make our online gift shop happen so that we can make it that little bit easier."

Flavours in the assortments include 92 percent Ghana Intense Dark, 86 percent Ghana Extra Dark, 76 percent Nicaragua Rich Dark and 70 percent Samoa Smooth Dark.

But if you're hoping for a couple of classic Kiwi faves like Creamy Milk or Berry and Biscuit, you're out of luck for the time being.

"While we're currently only offering our three assortments through the new online Whittaker's Chocolate Gift Shop, especially to cater for Christmas gift-giving, we hope there may be opportunities to expand the range available there in the future," says Whittaker.
