Attention all lovebirds: Valentine's Day falls on Sunday, February 14. That means this coming Sunday.

If you're clutching your head in fear because you've forgotten - and you know your partner definitely hasn't - don't worry, it's not too late.

Obviously one of the more traditional Valentine's gifts is a nice bouquet of blooms. There's nothing nicer than a vase of fresh flowers to brighten up any space, especially if they've been picked by your boo - either straight out of the ground or from a fancy store.

They're also the ultimate 'last minute' gift - no gift-wrapping or delivery fees required.

Here are our top picks for florists around Auckland, ahead of V-day.

Buying online:

Bouqo

This Kiwi company has taken all of the fretting out of flowers. Typically when buying from florists you're forced to scroll endlessly for hours trying to find a bouquet that fits. Instead, the Bouqo site will ask you a few questions, then the 'Perfect Choice' algorithm offers up a few bouquet options that best suit the needs of the person buying.

They also assist in crafting a perfect message card to go along with the flowers, if you're not exactly a wordsmith.

Founder Vanisha Narsey told Newshub the site was inspired by a Jerry Seinfeld bit where "he talks about how flower shops are not set up for men, yet the existence of flowers is the only reason why men are able to keep their relationships with women going for so long".

So true.

Buying instore:

The Wild Bunch: Located in Remuera, this florist shop is filled with all things pretty. With bespoke pastel bouquets and vibrant posies, these blooms are said to last the distance and earn you brownie points.

Snickel Lane Florist: Snickel Lane Florist is located in the heart of Auckland – so it could be the perfect place to head for CBD workers looking for an emergency post-work scenario.

The Remuera Flower Van: The Remuera Flower Van has quickly become a go-to for any Eastern Bay flower lovers. Customers can pick their blooms from a wide selection of fresh NZ grown flowers.

Enchanted Rose Flowers, Herne Bay: Leon the owner is a third-generation florist and knows his way around providing the best flowers to create lasting memories.
