Austrian brothel offers COVID-19 vaccination, free sex for those who get vaxxed

A sauna club in Austria is offering free sessions with its sex workers for people who get vaccinated against COVID-19.

The FunPalast in Vienna is administering the vaccinations on-site and offering every client who gets a jab a 30-minute voucher with "lady of their choice".

It comes as Austria's COVID-19 cases top 900,000, resulting in more than 11,500 deaths to date. The country has a population of 8.9 million and is currently 66 percent fully vaccinated.

Austrian authorities have recently introduced tough rules for the unvaccinated who may be targeted with lockdowns that vaxxed people don't have to abide by as cases surge and hospitals struggle. The unvaxxed are barred from restaurants, hotels, hairdressing salons and large public events in the country.

COVID-19 vaccines will be on offer at the FunPalast: Sex Star Sauna Club every Monday from 4pm - 10pm through November and boys as young as 14 are reportedly allowed to use the clinic, if they are accompanied by an adult.

The brothel is relishing the coverage its promotion has generated, saying it suffered a 50 percent decrease in business during the pandemic.

"It's actually such a great action to make such a statement, especially in our industry. And now we have a great vaccination site and we are very popular," club director Christoph Leilacher told Reuters TV.

The Austrian government has stepped up police checks enforcing vaccination rules and warned that if the COVID-19 situation worsens, even tighter restrictions for unvaccinated people may be introduced.
