Coronation concert: Katy Perry rocks gilded metallic Vivienne Westwood gown for two-song performance

Despite making a meme-orable appearance at King Charles III's coronation on Saturday (which included stumbling in her stilettos and struggling to find her seat), Katy Perry has nailed her sartorial selections for the pomp and pageantry of the royal event.

Performing at the coronation concert before 20,000 guests at Windsor Castle on Sunday (local time), Perry, 38, embraced the gilded grandeur of the occasion and opted for a custom Vivienne Westwood gown, made with gold leatherette.

The corseted creation's 18th-century silhouette was designed to "exude baroque grandeur", according to the fashion house, referencing historic royal glamour but in a modern metallic hue. The backless gown also featured a plunging neckline and detatched sleeves with puffed shoulders. As per Vogue, the draping was inspired by a bridal look for Vivienne Westwood's spring 2006 Gold Label collection.

To complete the dramatic look, Perry wore her hair slicked back and opted for a pair of gold earrings in the shape of cherubs.

The 'California Gurls' hitmaker worked with the British fashion house for her coronation wardrobe, also donning a bespoke lavender suit for the ceremony at Westminster Abbey on Saturday. The all-lilac look featured a netted tulle fascinator, opera gloves and and one of the fashion house's signature pearl necklaces, as well as a white purse and heels.

And it appears that some of the youngest royals are among Perry's fanbase, with Princess Charlotte spotted singing along to 'Roar' and Prince George waving his Union Jack flag to the beat. Five-year-old Prince Louis, however, gave the concert a miss and instead had an early night.

For her second and final song of the night, Perry dedicated her hit song 'Firework' to the newly crowned King, thanking the monarch for "bringing out the fireworks in so many young people" through his charitable endeavours. Perry reportedly first connected with then-Prince Charles in Mumbai, India four years ago, and serves as an ambassador for the British Asian Trust, a charity founded by Charles in 2007.

The coronation concert lineup also included performances by Lionel Richie, Take That, Andrea Bocelli and Sir Bryn Terfel. Nicole Scherzinger also took the stage for a rendition of 'Reflection' from the 1998 Disney film Mulan, accompanied by pianist Lang Lang. Other performers included Olly Murs, Paloma Faith, Tiwa Savage, Zak Abel and Alexis Ffrench, with speeches by Prince William and fashion designer Stella McCartney, Sir Paul McCartney's daughter.
