A popular suckable yoghurt pouch sold across supermarkets in New Zealand has been recalled over fears it may contain plastic.

The easy-feeding and quick breakfast option is loved by children across the country - but there's a warning it could potentially be dangerous.

Two batches of The Collective Suckies Strawberry Kids Yoghurt (4X100g) have been recalled, due to it possibly containing "foreign matter" or "black plastic".

A food recall notice apologised to customers for any inconvenience and urged those who had purchased the product not to consume it.

"There have been no reports of injury, however, if you have consumed this product and have any concerns about your health, seek medical advice."

Customers are asked to return the products to their retailer for a full refund.
