Dyson has opened its first-ever New Zealand 'Dyson Demo' pop-up, allowing prospective customers to 'try before they buy' and better understand the company's technologies across beauty, home and wearables.

The store - which officially opened in Auckland's Westfield Albany on Monday - promises an immersive space to experience the products hands-on, with on-site experts to advise on the best models and attachments to suit people's needs.

The pop-up features several demonstration zones and interactive displays to showcase how Dyson's portfolio of tech is designed to tackle everyday problems, from hair damage to air pollution.

Along with the likes of Samsung and Miele, Dyson is renowned for its powerful cordless vacuums and air purification systems. In the interactive 'healthy home' area, visitors can observe the Dyson Gen5 Detect up against common household debris, or check out the Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool Formaldehyde in action with live air quality data. Shoppers can also learn about the different types of pollutants found within indoor spaces in New Zealand, from ultrafine particles to potentially dangerous gases.

For beauty buffs, the space also offers a styling station featuring the Airwrap multi-styler, Supersonic hair dryer and Corrale straightener, allowing shoppers to put the popular hairstyling tech to the test. There are complimentary styling appointments on offer as well as personalised hair health consultations, where a Dyson stylist can advise on the right tools and attachments for the individual's styling needs.

"Dyson operates more than 250 Dyson stores worldwide and our first ever Dyson Demo pop-up in New Zealand will add to our ambitious growth plans for the future," Dyson CEO Roland Krueger said in a statement.

"Together with Dyson's direct online store, the new space in Auckland forms a part of our growing ambitions in direct-to-consumer retail, providing consumers with opportunities to discover the Dyson technology through both the virtual and physical world."
