Whittaker's Chocolate has released a new 250g block inspired by mango sticky rice dessert.

The Mango and Coconut chocolate block is made with caramelised white chocolate, chewy mango pieces and toasted coconut.

It launches in Australia from May 6, but is already in New Zealand shops from today with a launch RRP of $6.29.

Whittaker's is one of the most popular chocolate brands in Aotearoa, alongside Cadbury.

The company said its Mango and Coconut will be part of its permanent core range of chocolates on sale to Kiwis from Monday.

"Our new Mango & Coconut is so definitively delicious that we think it deserves a permanent spot in our 250g block range from the outset," Whittaker's Chief Marketing Officer, Soraya Cottin said.

"We can't wait to hear what our Chocolate Lovers think of it, and hope they enjoy their first experience of this little taste of the tropics as summer comes to an end and whenever they need an indulgent treat."

The company has also revealed it has been Rainforest Alliance certified, meaning the block is Palm Oil-free and is made from 100 percent traceable Ghanaian Cocoa beans.
