Otago's property values to plummet as climate threats increase - CoreLogic report

A new report says the cost of river flooding to property values is already topping $100 million per year and it's predicted to skyrocket even further.

According to CoreLogic data, Otago's property values would be the hardest hit in the future - accounting for 15 percent of the national average river flooding property value loss.

Wellington, Hawke's Bay, Manawatū-Whanganui and Auckland would be the other areas most exposed to loss of value from floods by 2050.

CoreLogic head of research Nick Goodall spoke to AM about the report.
