One lucky Southland Lotto player will be celebrating Christmas early after winning $6.3 million.

The player won Lotto's Powerball First Division and Lotto First Division on Wednesday night.

"The $6.3 million prize is made up of $6 million from Powerball First Division and $333,333 from Lotto First Division," Lotto said in a statement.

Lotto also said the Southland winner is the nineteenth Powerball multi-millionaire of 2022.

A Strike player from Rotorua will also be celebrating after winning $1 million in Wednesday's Strike Must Be Won Draw.

"Rounding out tonight's winners are two other Lotto players who each won $333,333 with Lotto First Division. The winning tickets were sold at Richmond Night N Day in Nelson and New World Lincoln in Lincoln," Lotto said.

Lotto encourages anyone who bought a ticket from the Richmond Night N Day in Nelson, the Lincoln New World, on MyLotto or through the Lotto NZ App to check their tickets as soon as possible.
