Lotto: Canterbury player wins $17.25 million with first Powerball victory of 2024 - where the winning tickets were sold

A Canterbury Lotto player will be waking up on top of the world on Sunday after winning $17.25 million with Powerball First Division on Saturday night.  

The winning ticket was sold on MyLotto to a player from Canterbury. 

The prize is made up of $17 million from Powerball First Division and $250,000 from Lotto First Division. 

Saturday night's numbers were 8, 20, 25, 32, 11 and 13. The bonus ball was 7 and Powerball was 1. 

Saturday night's winner is the first Powerball multi-millionaire of 2024 and comes just one month after a $12.2 million Powerball prize was won by an Auckland couple. The couple are looking forward to supporting their family with their win. 

Three other lucky players will also be celebrating after each winning $250,000 with Lotto First Division on Saturday night.  

The winning tickets were sold at Highpoint Temptations Lotto in Birkenhead, Four Square Mangapapa in Gisborne and on MyLotto to a player from Franklin, Waikato. 

A lucky Strike player will also be celebrating after winning $400,000 with Strike Four. The winning Strike ticket was sold at Mitchell's Paper Power in Northcote. 

Meanwhile, 20 Lotto players had luck on their side on Saturday after each winning $17,932 with Lotto Second Division.  

The winning Second Division tickets were sold at stores in Auckland, One Tree Hill, Mt Wellington, Glen Eden, Manukau, Waitakere, Massey East, Manurewa, Taupō, Bay of Plenty, Napier, Pahiatua, Upper Hutt, Lower Hutt, West Coast, Christchurch, Queenstown Lakes, Dunedin City and Invercargill.

"Anyone who bought their ticket from any of the above stores or on MyLotto should check their ticket as soon as possible in-store, on MyLotto, or through the MyLotto App," a Lotto NZ spokesperson said.
