Christchurch Police have released CCTV footage of an aggravated robbery at a service station on Sunday night.

The footage, taken at around 7:30pm, shows three males wearing hoodies entering the Challenge Fuel station on Hills Rd in Edgeware, a Christchurch suburb near the CBD.

The men arrived in a blue hatchback and were armed with weapons, and stole tobacco and cigarettes. Police believe the blue hatchback might have been a Subaru Impreza.

It's the second Christchurch service station robbery in a week where cigarettes have been stolen.

A man threatened an attendant at a service station on Blights Rd on Saturday with a hammer before escaping with cigarettes and cash.

Christchurch Police have asked the public to identify the robbers.
