Hammer, knife used in Levin liquor store robbery

Three men have allegedly robbed a Thirsty Liquor store with weapons in Levin.

The aggravated robbery occurred on Saturday night at around 9pm, police say.

The claim two of the three men entered the store armed with a knife and a hammer.

The trio managed to get away with bottles of spirits, and are believed to have run across the road and through the Weraroa Cricket Club's reserve to escape.

No staff was threatened or injured during the incident, police say.

They are now carrying out a scene investigation on Sunday.

Police are also looking to speak to anyone who was around area at the time of the robbery.
