'We're making it work': Jacinda Ardern discusses Clarke Gayford's return to work

Baby Neve will soon have two working parents - but she'll still be well looked after, says Jacinda Ardern.

The Prime Minister was back in the job six weeks after giving birth, meaning partner Clarke Gayford took up the role of 'stay-at-home dad'.

Now he's going back to work himself, announcing on Monday that his TV Show Fish of the Day will resume filming this summer.

Ms Ardern says while it's less time-consuming than a regular 9-5 job, her partner will be away from home for periods of time - and the couple will need some help in the childcare department.

"For those periods where he's off filming, my mum and my mother-in-law are helping me, and then he's back in between," she told Stuff.

"We're just making it work, between us."

Her mother Laurell has already been helping take care of Neve in her first four months of life.

Mr Gayford's mother has also been heavily involved with her granddaughter, even knitting the shawl Neve wore in the Instagram photo that introduced her to the world.

In the Facebook video in which he announced his return to Fish of the Day, Mr Gayford paid tribute to "some wonderful grandmothers offering to babysit".

He also revealed he'd shaved the "luxurious" yet "disgusting" beard he'd cultivated since becoming a father.
