Every now and then you see something that just makes you smile and sometimes can make your standard work day a little bit better.
For Steven Spaven two youngsters riding a bike into a popular Wellington swimming spot did just that.
On his lunch break, Mr Spaven walked down to Island Bay beach where he saw a boy in his wetsuit riding a bike off the wall and into the water.
He would pass the bike up to his friend who would then have a go himself.
"Think they did it about seven or eight times," Mr Spaven says.
"[It] just made me smile in an otherwise standard work day!"
Mr Spaven says it did generate some interested from the crowd "but this is Wellington so it's expected".
