Police will address media just after 5pm following the fatal shooting of a man in Kawerau on Thursday morning.
Authorities were called to the scene of a bank robbery just after 9am at First Credit Union on Fletcher Ave.
Officers located a vehicle with a suspect believed to be involved and a police chase commenced.
At about 10:20am, the man stopped the vehicle, and was shot by police.
