Armed police kept guard of the crime scene where an Auckland barbershop was shot up on Friday as an investigation took place.
Shocked Mt Eden neighbours and the shop's owners looked on in disbelief. A scene like it in the quiet suburb of Mt Eden was far from the norm.

"It's very scary coz i live around here and I have two young kids and it's quite daunting to see bullet holes like that," one neighbour told Newshub.
"[It's] kind of terrifying because my baby sleeps just metres away," another said.
With armed police officers guarding the scene on Friday, reality quickly hit home.
"If someone was in that barbershop last night, they would have been killed," a neighbouring shop owner told Newshub.
Two neighbours witnessed what they described as a horrible ordeal. They say a black car pulled up to the barbershop, fired multiple shots into the window, before taking off down a side street.
Police are appealing for any information on who shot the barber shop.
