A person has died and two others are have been injured after a serious assault in south Auckland.
Det Insp Colin Higson, of Counties Manukau, said a person is being spoken to in connection to the incident in Mahunga Dr, Mangere. A homicide investigation has been launched.

Police were called to the scene about 3:40pm on Thursday.
A number of staff were in the area trying to establish what had occurred, Det Insp Higson said.
"We can confirm that a woman has died at the scene after it appears she has been hit by a vehicle.
"Two other people were injured in the incident - a woman has sustained serious injuries and a man has sustained moderate injuries."
Det Insp Higson said the road remained closed while inquiries continued.
"A post-mortem examination will also be carried out tomorrow [Friday].
"We would like to reassure the public that we do not believe there is any ongoing risk to the community."
