Watch: What it's like at the Ihumātao demonstrations

Hundreds of protesters continue to occupy Ihumātao demanding the site to be given back to Māori.

A 480-house development is planned for the area, but protesters say the land, which is one of the country's earliest settlements, should be protected.

Newshub's Emma Cropper has been at the site for the past few days, and has given an inside look as to what the scene looks like.

She says there's a "real sense of community" at the site.

A small number of protesters have been arrested during the demonstrations.
