A British woman who lives in Auckland has been reported missing in Fiji.

Lydia O'Sullivan, 23, was last sighted in a hotel in the Western Division where she has already checked out, Fiji police reported.

O'Sullivan is from Whitehaven, Cumbria in the UK. She's being described as around 1.5 metres tall, with blue eyes and brown hair.

Cumbria police said O'Sullivan had been messaging her family daily while in New Zealand, but they have not heard from her since Friday, February 28, BBC News reported.

Fiji police told Newshub a taskforce has been set up to look into the alleged disappearance of the British citizen.

Divisional Police Commanders are also assisting in their respective areas of operation.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact police in Fiji.
