A teenager has been arrested following the fatal stabbing of another male teen in the Far North on Saturday morning.
Krillan Brown, 18, was fatally stabbed in the small Far North town of Moerewa in the early hours.
Police and ambulance were called to an address on Snowdon Ave at around 12:20am, where local man Brown was found unresponsive. Despite attempts to revive him, he died at the scene.
Police said they have arrested and charged another 18-year-old male with male assaults female. He is due to appear in the Kaikohe District Court on Monday.
A post mortem will be conducted on Monday and the scene examination will continue.
Police said they were still speaking to a number of people who were present at the address when the incident occurred.
