A humorous portrayal of Jacinda Ardern and a "Terrible Orange" is up for grabs on Trade Me.

The artwork shows the Prime Minister holding an orange in her hand, which has been drawn in an unflattering resemblance of US President Donald Trump.

Trump is known for his distinctly orange facial colourations, believed to result from the using of tanning products and makeup.

The seller says original artwork from a New Zealand artist made using graphite pencil and watercolours and comes on acid-free paper.

"The artwork is signed and dated on the back and framed in an 18" x 24" Rimu frame with a white mat border," they state on the auction.

The auction closes on Sunday, and the current bid is $177. The reserve price has still yet to be met.

Ardern is a popular subject of Trade Me art. A drawing of the Prime Minister and Director-General of Health dressed as superheroes went up for sale in June.

The A3-sized artwork, by Auckland graphic designer Jason Hoyt, showed Ardern wearing a Wonder Woman shirt beneath her blazer.

Hoyt was also behind a 2019 drawing of Ardern on horseback with her breasts exposed, which was removed from Trade Me after it was deemed "inappropriate".
