There are reports a person is critically injured after a car smashed into a powerpole in Northland on Sunday.
Police say they are at the site of the crash on Pipiwai Rd in Matarau, Whangarei.
"Emergency services were alerted to a car vs powerpole crash at around 1:26pm," a police spokesperson says
"One person is reported to be critically injured.
"The road is blocked for now and motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible."
