A police investigation is continuing in west Auckland after more shots were fired overnight, coming from the same address a firearm was discharged on Monday which caused a nearby school to go into lockdown.

Classes at Massey's Lincoln Heights School were disrupted about midday on Monday after a firearm was discharged at a Keegan Dr address. Two people were taken into custody as a result.

Police said on Tuesday officers responded to another incident at the same address about 2am, when several shots were fired at parked cars.

"Our enquiries so far indicate around eight shots were fired," said Det Snr Sgt Megan Goldie.

"Armed police responded to the address and searched the property. No people were located at the address and at this stage we are not aware of anyone being injured as a result of this incident."

A scene examination is being conducted at the address and police are searching the Massey area.

"Our enquiries into both incidents remain ongoing at this point and we cannot rule out the possibility of further arrests or charges being laid," Goldie said.

"This will in no doubt be concerning to the families living nearby and the wider community.

"Residents will notice a heightened police presence in the Keegan Dr and wider Massey areas as part of our investigation."

Anyone with information about the incidents is urged to contact the Waitematā crime squad on (09) 839 0697  or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
