An investigation is continuing into the death of an Auckland businesswoman whose body was discovered in her car near her Sunnyhills home on Saturday.

Elizabeth Zhong's house remained cordoned off on Thursday and Friday will be a week since she first went missing.

For days and days, police officers have been carefully working through her property in Sunnyhills where she had been living.

Forensic teams have been in and out of the cordoned-off property but police have been very quiet about how the investigation is progressing.

Newshub on Thursday met a neighbour when visiting another property the Auckland businesswoman owned and had previously lived in Kumeu. He described Zhong as a "lovely lady".

That property appears to have been listed with a real estate agency recently and several businesses Zhong had been the director of, including a digital production company based in Epsom, had recently gone into receivership and the building was for lease.

Police didn't have any further updates on their investigation on Thursday - very little detail is known about this mysterious homicide inquiry.
