One of the Wellington musicians at the centre of allegations of rape, sexual assault and violence has pleaded not guilty to a slew of charges.

The man, who appeared in court on Thursday morning, pleaded not guilty to multiple sexual assault-related charges and requested a jury trial.

An additional charge of sexual violation has been added.

He will next appear in court on March 26 for a case review hearing.

It comes after Wellington Police arrested a man last month as part of an investigation into allegations of sexual assault involving a group of musicians.

The man had been charged with seven sexual assault-related charges following a lengthy police operation spurred by allegations against several men posted on social media.

The allegations were centered around a group of Wellington musicians with dozens of people claiming they had been drugged and assaulted.
