Man charged with grievously injuring Wellington man Simon Strickland appears in court

The man charged with injuring Wellington man Simon Strickland, who later died, has appeared in court.

The 28-year-old man was granted interim name suppression and remanded on bail until 22 March. 

He is charged with injury with intent to cause grievous bodily harm after allegedly assaulting 58-year-old Strickland outside Wellington's Te Papa on Saturday, February 13.

Strickland died in hospital four days later.
