One person has died following a single-vehicle crash on State Highway 4 in Whanganui.
The stretch of SH4 between Whanganui and Raetihi is currently closed, a police spokesperson said.
Emergency services were alerted to the crash shortly before 8pm on Friday.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
The Serious Crash Unit is in attendance.
