On the South Island's remote West Coast, the once-thriving town of Westport has developed a meth problem.
Local Willy has set up a community patrol, the Kawatiri Knight Owls, to help combat the problem. He believes the town's increase in crime is due to people trying to find any way to fund their habit given how expensive meth is.
"We're not police, we're not trying to be police," he tells Patrick Gower as part of his documentary Patrick Gower: On P.
Gower joined the community patrol one evening to see how the group helps combat the town's meth problem.
