Police have named the 10-month old baby that died at Starship Hospital on Friday evening with what are believed to be "non-accidental" injuries.
Chance Kamanaka O Ke Akura Aipolani-Nielson arrived at Starship on Wednesday night with critical injuries.
Police said an investigation into his death is ongoing and on Saturday was upgraded to a homicide probe.
On Friday, police carried out a scene examination at an address in Birkdale but as of Sunday, no one had been arrested.
"Anyone with information that may assist police with our inquiries is asked to get in touch on 105 and reference Operation Angora," a statement said.
