Search teams looking for missing Bay of Plenty man David Holland say they have "exhausted" available lines of inquiry.

The 31-year-old was last seen on March 11 when it was believed he was intending to go for a swim at Papamoa Beach.

Police say extensive searches have been made in the area, but nothing has been found that give any clues to where Holland may be.

"Further searching cannot occur without evidence to narrow any areas of interest," they say.

"The search is still being reviewed and Police will assess any new information received."

Police are still appealing to anyone with information on Holland's whereabouts to come forward.
