Police arrest multiple people including two 15yos after Auckland mall ram raid

Police have arrested multiple people including two 15-year-olds following the ram raid at an Auckland shopping centre last month.

The ram raid saw three stolen vehicles smash through the doors at Ormiston shopping centre before driving through the mall and smashing into Postie Plus and Noel Leeming. 

Detective Inspector of Counties Manukau Karen Bright said in a statement police had conducted six search warrants following the early morning raid. 

"Today we have executed five warrants in Counties Manukau and one in Northland, which has resulted in the apprehension of three young people." 

Det Inspt Bright said two 15-year-olds have been charged with burglary and unlawfully takes, and the pair will appear in the Manukau and Whangarei Youth Courts.

Police haven't revealed the age of a third young person who will be referred to Youth Aid. 

"Investigators have summonsed a 22-year-old man to the Manukau District Court as part of our enquires," she added.

The man will appear in court charged with receiving stolen property on May 19.
