Wellingtonians mock failed parallel parking attempt

Most New Zealanders would agree - especially us millennials - there's nothing worse than having to parallel park on a busy CBD street.

For one Wellington motorist, however, the manoeuvre was so difficult they appear to have given up - not by driving on and finding an easier park to squeeze into, but by leaving their car in the middle of the road.

Images captured by a passerby, shared on Wellington Facebook page Vic Deals accompanied by the sarcastic caption "nearly there", show the vehicle stationary directly beside the parallel park.

Commenters on the photo were both confused and amused at how the failed park came to be.

"That's called a parallel with the park," one said.

"Bloody hell maybe the owner thought it could park itself lol," another wrote.

Many others quipped they could relate to the failed parking attempt.

"I swear that's better than my parking," said another.
