Houses raided after four homes shot up in Christchurch, several men arrested

Police have arrested several men following a series of shootings at houses across Christchurch.

The arrests come after a series of search warrants were executed around the city.

Police are investigating after houses were shot up on four different occasions over the weekend. It's believed the incidents are connected and one of the houses was mistakenly targeted.

"Police were called to properties on Hammond Place, Spreydon, and Gayhurst Road, Dallington, about 10:30pm on Friday; and Hammond Place, Spreydon, and Broadbent Street, Riccarton, yesterday between 10:30 and 11pm," police said in an earlier statement.

The search warrants were executed in Wigram and Kaiapoi on Wednesday morning, a spokesperson said.

Further search warrants were then executed in Tanner Street, Woolston, and Mathers Road, Hoon Hay.

As a result, several men have been arrested.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and charges are being considered for those arrested.
