Michelle Stratford, a member of the Facebook group 'Kāpiti Coast Community Page' has made a gardening enquiry that has left the group in stitches.
On Thursday Michelle Stratford, who works at 'Tommy's Real Estate Kāpiti', posted two photos from her colleague, Robyn Walker, alongside the post "My work colleague discovered this on her cabbage tree. Any ideas what she should do with it?"
The growth on the tree is surprisingly phallic and the community had fun suggesting ways the tree could be used.
"Call the council and ask them to help... they’ll do nothing but sit on it", said one user.
"Say you have a headache?" suggested another.
One Facebook user made a musical reference in their suggestion, "In the words of Eric Clapton’s song 'Let it grow, let it grow'".
There were also many comments on the remarkable nature of the cabbage tree's growth.
"Imagine the size of the blue pill he had to swallow", one member commented.
One commenter said the tree was "a tree huggers dream come true".
Another user called the tree "A Typical exhibitionist. Look at me".
Community Facebook pages are often rife with conflict, and one community member commented that it was "nice to see a fun post full of hilarious comments for a change instead of negativity".
