Michael McGrath murder trial: Sister of David Benbow's ex-partner says he was angry, behaved strangely before McGrath went missing

The sister of David Benbow's ex-partner has told a court Benbow was angry, ranting and behaving strangely in the weeks before Michael McGrath went missing.

Toni Green said Benbow was distraught at losing his family and angry Michael McGrath was now seeing his ex.

Green was close to Benbow, considered him like family and was worried about him after her sister broke up with him.

She went to visit Benbow a few weeks before McGrath went missing. She described his erratic behaviour, saying he had lost weight, was distraught, resentful, heartbroken and behaving in a very odd manner. Transitioning from sobbing to giggling to becoming angry.

Green said Benbow told her on that visit that he suspected his ex was seeing McGrath and kept talking about it, saying: "Mike was his best mate and now he was shagging my sister, his ex-partner and he was very angry about that."
