Auckland police have launched another homicide investigation after a man died following an incident in an Auckland reserve on Saturday afternoon.

Police say they were called to Taurima Reserve in Point England after several reports of disorder and sounds of gunshots.

After this, a man arrived at a hospital in a critical condition with gunshot wounds. He later died of his injuries.

Police said an investigation is underway and they are looking to find those responsible.

They believe those involved are known to each other, it was an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing risk to the wider public.

Anyone who was in the immediate area at the time is asked to get in contact.

"You can call us via 105 or provide information online at https://www.police.govt.nz/use-105, using Update My Report. Please reference job number P05557214," said Detective Senior Sergeant Steve Salton, Auckland City CIB.

"Information can also be provided anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111."

The Point England community will notice a greater Police presence while investigations continue.

This comes after a homicide investigation was launched on Friday after a victim of the Queen Street shootings died in hospital. Police are seeking 24-year-old Dariush Talagi and warn he is "considered dangerous".
