Dunedin police slam 'dangerous' driving after footage captures campervan's shocking maneuvers

Dunedin police have slammed a motorist's dangerous driving after footage emerged of a campervan swerving on both sides of the road and swinging around blind corners.

The footage, shared anonymously to the Facebook group Port Chalmers on Wednesday, shows the large campervan often driving in the middle of Aramoana Rd.

At one point the van swerves completely on the wrong side of the road as it drives around another corner.

Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond condemned the driving, labelling it "dangerous" - especially because the large vehicle was caught going around blind corners while on the wrong side of the road.

"Someone could have been seriously hurt should a collision have taken place."

The anonymous Facebook user warned members of the Port Chalmers group to "take care" if they are travelling between Port Chalmers and Aramoana.

Snr Sgt Bond urged anyone who sees dangerous driving to pull over and call 111 "immediately" so staff can be sent to locate the vehicle and its driver.

Police are eager to speak to the person who filmed the shocking driving and confirmed to Newshub they have not yet received an official report on the matter.
