Seventeen-year-old appears in court over security guard Ramandeep Singh's death

Family of the 17-year-old charged with the murder of security guard Ramandeep Singh filled the Waitākere Youth Court as he appeared on Saturday morning.

The teenager is also charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm of another victim in July.

Ramandeep Singh was allegedly killed in the early hours of Monday at Royal Reserve in Massey whilst on patrol.

A second man, aged 26, was also charged with his murder earlier in the week.

The 17-year-old accused has been remanded without plea to reappear in the High Court at Auckland on February 7.

As he left the court, nine family members yelled, "Love you, see you soon".
