Three teenagers have been arrested after a violent liquor store robbery in Hamilton last weekend injured two people.

The aggravated robbery involved four people wearing masks, who entered the store on Whatawhata Rd in Dinsdale at about 9:25pm on Saturday.

The group of offenders assaulted the owner of the store and an employee.

Police said the owner suffered injuries to his head and hand after challenging the assailants, requiring hospital treatment before being released to recover at home.

"Two 15-year-olds and a 17-year-old were arrested today in relation to the incident,” Det Insp Graham Pitkethley said on Wednesday.

"Investigators are following strong lines of enquiry to locate a fourth individual."

Anyone with information who has not yet spoken to the police is asked to call 105.
