The public is being asked for help as police officers investigate an assault at a reserve in Auckland's Ōtara late last month.
Det Snr Sgt James Mapp said the assault happened at about 6:40am on January 18, at Ōtara Creek Reserve.
He said a woman was jogging down East Tāmaki Rd before she was assaulted.
“She noticed a man walking towards her at the time, before she turned into an entrance of the reserve, off East Tamaki Rd."
The public is being asked to come forward if they recognise the man in the supplied photos.
“This man followed her into the park, before running towards her and dragging her to the ground.”
She didn't suffer any physical injuries but was shaken nevertheless.
"We have ensured there is support for her,” Mapp said.
The man allegedly stole the woman's phone and bank cards before fleeing on foot.
Mapp said detectives have been working hard to identify the man in the area.
"Anyone who knows who the man is should contact police."
The man wore all Nike-branded black clothing and shoes, with gold or yellow Nike logos.
“Violence like this has no place in our community and I’m asking the public to assist our investigation so this man can be held accountable," said Mapp.
He said someone in the community would recognise the man by his outfit.
“They need to do the right thing and contact the police so we can speak with him.”
