A man has been arrested after allegedly threatening to kill someone with a weapon at a petrol station in Auckland.
Police said in a statement a 36-year-old man had been taken into custody after the incident at the BP on Khyber Pass Rd at around 6:50pm on Saturday.
"The man allegedly approached someone at a petrol station and threatened them with a weapon," police said, adding that the victim appeared to be a customer.
He was tracked down a short time later and charged with possession of an offensive weapon, assaulting police and threatening to kill.
A video posted to TikTok shows at least six police cars lined up along Khyber Pass Road on Saturday. A throng of police could be seen standing outside Sun World Chinese Restaurant, about a block away from the BP.
The man is due to appear in Auckland District Court on Monday.
