Video footage shows what could be New Zealand's worst parallel parker

A shocking video of an attempted parallel park in Auckland's CBD last week has shocked Kiwis.

Dashcam footage from a car parked behind the empty space on St Paul Street on Friday, shows a blue Hyundai begin to indicate as it attempts to reverse into a spot behind a silver Nissan Navara Ute.

However, the driver misses and crashes into the rear of the ute.

The driver of the car then changes their mind, gives up on the park, and quickly speeds off.

One man who discovered the dashcam footage admitted he's disappointed people have licenses without knowing how to parallel park.

He described the driver as "so unskilled".

"They have a lack of situational awareness," he told Newshub. "The owner of the vehicle should've had more responsibility."

"You think you can drive off and just get away with it?"

People were quick to comment on the video that was shared to a Facebook page, calling out the "wild" driver.

"It's the innocent drive-off for me like nothing happened," one person said.

"They got a pretty flash vehicle as well. [They] could definitely pay for the scratch or bump they left on that Navara," another added.

"How do you mess up that bad?" a third said.
