New Zealand's golden girl Lisa Carrington opened her Olympic campaign in style in the heats of the K1 200 and the K2 1000.

The eyes of the world were on Laurel Hubbard on a heartbreaking night for the transgender Kiwi athlete.

The women's Black Sticks were eliminated by the Netherlands, while the Eventing team had a night to forget.
