Jack Russell 'Mak' melts hearts as he takes first chopper ride

What could be the cutest member of the agriculture workforce has been melting hearts after his first time in a helicopter was captured on video.

The video of eight-month-old puppy 'Mak' riding in a agriculture spray helicopter was posted to Facebook, and has had more than 50,000 views.

The plucky Jack Russell belongs to the Lawn family who operates Ahaura Helicopters, near Greymouth.

The company provides professional helicopter services including spraying operations for the agricultural sector.

"Introducing Mak to spraying operations today," said the post.

Simon Lawn told Newshub he had been surprised at the reaction to the video.

"It's amazing how popular his video is with everyone," said Lawn.

Lawn said Mak, who is named after the Waimakariri river, was very social.

"He generally just loves hanging out with us at work with the helicopters."
