Arriving at the Volvo Ocean Race village at The Hague, you'd be forgiven for thinking the Uber had dropped you off at the wrong place.
It's a beach. There are beach volleyball courts, bars, food stalls, zorb balls, beach loungers, picnic tables, a stand-up-paddle boarding arena, and people walking around in togs.
The only thing that confirms you are in fact in the right place is the massive Volvo building in the distance, and a huge yellow building with Team Brunel plastered all over it.
This village is set up for partying, not sailing. If you want to see the boats, take a hike over the breakwater.
No matter what the result of the race, there's going to be one hell of a party on the Netherlands coast.
After 253 days sailing around the world, organisers have created the perfect haven for the sailing teams to let their hair down and celebrate their epic journey.
Organisers have their work cut out for them though, when we arrived on the eve of the boats arriving, there was still a lot of work needed to be done.
