Olympic sprint champion Usain Bolt has been offered a professional contract with the A-League's Central Coast Mariners, his agent has revealed.

The 32 year old has been on a high profile trial at the club in recent months.

"I can confirm Usain has been offered a contract by Central Coast Mariners," Bolt's agent, Ricky Simms, told BBC.

The BBC's report said the Mariners had refused to comment on media speculation.

Bolt scored two goals for the Mariners in his last appearance for the club, but did not play in their season opening 1-1 draw with Brisbane Roar Sunday.

Should Bolt sign, he could appear in Wellington December 15, with the Mariners due to play the Wellington Phoenix at Westpac Stadium that day.

Bolt is a multiple Olympic sprint champion, and world record holder in 100m and 200m races.
