Boxing: Joseph Parker knocks out Alexander Flores in third round

Joseph Parker has managed to get his career back on track with a comprehensive win over Alexander Flores to move to 25 wins and two losses for his career.

The win came in the third round with Parker dominating the American Mexican for the majority of the fight.

Parker started the fight well attacking the body and wearing the 28-year-old down.

Early in the third round after a few marginal punches hit around Flores' belt line Parker dropped the American.

Then with two minutes and 51 seconds gone in the third, the 26-year-old from South Auckland ended Flores' night with a brutal eight punch combo to earn the knockout victory.

The result came with controversy, Flores and his camp thinking he was hit three or four times below the belt.

"He hit me with a low blow, he hit me low more than a couple of times," Flores said.

"The referee warned him once, I fought in his home, he was favored by the judges and the referee but it is what it is."

Parker replied saying.

"I'm the fighter, there is a referee; all I do is throw the punches."

But there was no arguing the knock-out, a highlight reel performance for sure from Joseph Parker.

The result was much needed for the former WBO heavyweight champion after losing to Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte in his last two fights.

Heavyweight talent Junior Fa had a great night, dispatching Argentinian Rogelio Omar Rossi in one minute and 20 seconds.

Speaking about a possible fight with Joseph Parker the 29-year-old said.

"I'll leave that up to my team, I am keen to fight him anytime he wants."
